11-21 May 2019: the Cycling Festival.
May 2019 will be a special month for all cycling lovers.
On 11 May, the first time trial of the Giro d'Italia will start from Bologna (130 km from Cattolica), officially giving way to the most famous race in the world.
On May 12th the Granfondo Squali starts from Cattolica. Now in its fifth edition, in a short time has reached exceptional numbers both for the presence of amateur cyclists, from all over the world and for positive feedback. Last year he had the honor of hosting the Granfondo Nibali and having the great Italian champion present at Cattolica for the whole weekend. It was above all a great party with exceptional guests and lots of fun and desire to celebrate one of the most loved sports in Italy. The Granfondo Squali is a cycling race suitable for all types of pedals that starts from the Aquarium of Cattolica, winds in the hills of the Romagna hinterland and ends at Gabicce Monte, one of the most striking balconies on the Adriatic Sea.
On May 18, the Giro d'Italia returns to affect our shores. The 8th stage will end in Pesaro (18km from Cattolica), a Marche city known to be "Citta della Musica" (birthplace of Gioacchino Rossini) and "Città della Bicicletta" as it is characterized by a real subway for bicycles that winds through the city and beyond.
The Giro d'Italia will restart from Riccione (10 km from Cattolica) on 19 May for the Riccione-Republic of San Marino time trial.
Also on 19 May, the 49th edition of Nove Colli, the Queen of Granfondo in Italy, will start from Cesenatico (47 Km from Cattolica).
On May 21st it will be the turn of the 10th stage of the Giro d'Italia which will start from Ravenna, "Città del Mosaico" (77 Km from Cattolica) and will end in Modena, the capital of the Motor Valley.
